The English Mentoring Program (EMP) is a free advanced English program for ALL Zug primary students who are fluent in spoken English. - five 90 minutes classes - held during school hours - address topics in grammar, literature and vocabulary - End of Year party for all EMP students with a book exchange During class students read aloud, answer questions and do short presentations in English only - no translating. - We also play word games in English. This requires rapid access to a strong English vocabulary.

Who is a successful EMP student

• A Native speaker / Spoken English from earliest childhood
• fluent in English
• confident in English
• enjoys using English

There is no German, but EMP students do not perceive this as a hardship.

Book Review Instructions

1. Select and read an English book.
2. Describe the book in a few sentences. Was it a comedy, an adventure, a mystery? Where does it take place? What happens? But don't give away the ending!
3. Then tell us what you thought of the book:
   • Why did you select the book?
   • What parts did you really like?
   • Were there parts you didn't enjoy?
   • Would you suggest this book to someone else?
4. Ask a family member to review what you have written.
5. Decorate your page. You are free to create a boarder, images, personal drawings, cut outs, whatever you would like to do for your page.
